barrel-aged coffee

Our first bourbon barrel-aged coffee is appearing this week on the shelf at The Smithy in New Preston. Thanks to the generosity of Litchfield Distillery, we have a fabulous Kentucky oak barrel that has imparted its virtue to fifty lbs (so far!) of fine Organic Nicaragua Jinotega coffee beans. There are notes of vanilla, toffee, and fig. We will leave the rest of the description up to you! Recommended (highly) for use as an espresso, with steamed milk. You will not be disappointed!
