A well-balanced bean that can be roasted dark & used for espresso, but at a milder roast level also makes a fine filtered coffee and lends its stable, lasting power to most of our blends. From the CORCASAN Coop, the Cooperativa Regional de Cafetaleros de San Juan del Rio Coco, founded in 1978 in Madriz, northern Nicaragua. Today, the coop has 250 members, 160 of whom are farmers who grow coffee at altitudes between 1000 and 1400 masl on the tropical hillsides under canopies of shade trees. Varietals: Caturra, Catuai and Catimor.
